Stevie Wonder

Stevie WonderStevland Haraway Morris (ne Judkins) was born on the 13th of May 1950. He is also known as Stevie Wonder and is considered a pioneering musician and an influencer for musicians from various genres from blues to jazz to gospel, soul and jazz. A virtual one-man group, Wonder's use of synthesizers as well as other electronic musical instruments during the 1970s changed the rules of R&B. He also helped push these styles into the album era making his albums solid and coherent, and also incorporating explicit statements about social consciousness with intricate compositions. Blind from the time of his birth, Wonder was a child prodigy. He signed with Motown's Tamla label at the age of 11 at which point he was given the name of a professional Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's success on the critical scene was at its peak in the 1970s. The singer's "classic period" began in 1972 when he released the albums of Music of My Mind and Talking Book, the latter featuring "Superstition" that is among the most unique and famous recordings of the sound of the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. He was awarded the Grammy Award as Album of the year for Innervisions (1973), FulfillingnessThe First Finale (1974) and Songs in the Key of Life ( 1976). This makes him the tie-record holder of the most Album of the year awards with three. He is the only artist who has won the award for Album of the Year, with three consecutive albums. Wonder's "commercial period" began in the early 1980s. Wonder had his biggest successes and most acclaim, increased album sales, charities, and prominent collaborations.
